Reviews
Really enjoyed our late lunch at Koshari Mama. There are a great selection of items that are reasonably priced and good portion sizes. The staff is friendly. I really enjoyed the falafel & the gluten free pita!
It’s a small restaurant with beautiful layout of the seating space. Run by a mother daughter duo, this place serves with love. The restaurant ordered the koshari, eggplant fries, mushrooms. Everything was delicious. Koshari was my fav, the rice and the pulses were so flavourful. I would like to go again to try more on their menu.
The ambiance and service was lovely! We got the mushroom shawarma and moussaka. Both dishes were flavorful and well presented. We aren’t fans of fake meat so we were happy it wasn’t a prominent flavor in the moussaka! Loved the baklava as well. The dishes were pricey due to it being dinner time. I would come back again during lunch because it seems like they serve the same dishes but better priced!
I'm so glad my friend James suggested this place for lunch. The owner is super lovely and made me feel like I was invited to eat at her home.
Everything I tried was very good, however, adding more options to the menu would be nice.
There were plenty of seats available so we didn't have to wait and service was pretty fast.
I also enjoyed the background music very much. I'm assuming it was Egyptian music but I didn't ask.
I hope to go back there, try more dishes and update this review because when I went there, I was catching up with my friend and a bit in a hurry so couldn't fully enjoy the Koshari Mama experience.
Definitely recommend this place.
Absolutely amazing little gem!! We had the Koshari, the vegan chicken and the vegan Kofta! I could not believe that this wasn’t real beef and chicken! Simply delicious! Warm and cozy and clean!
Koshari Mama is a vegan treasure! Such delicious food with top-notch service. When I walked in, I instantly felt right at home. Great chai latte, delicious pumpkin cider, and the best cake I've ever had. Highly recommend if you come to Boston!
The owner was incredibly warm and made us feel like part of the family.
The food is ALL vegan with some gluten free options! Everything was incredible and I was pleasantly surprised with the soup of the day- cream of arugula.
The food tastes just like what you'd expect from home cooking and tastes just as good the next day as leftovers.
Cosy atmosphere with a nice well lit spot by the window- which was perfect for me since I am visually impaired.
Looking forward to coming back.
I came here last night with my boyfriend and his family. It was our first time trying Egyptian food and it was absolutely incredible!! It's also all vegan! The woman who waited on us was so much more than a server -- we were treated like family. I had so many questions about the food and she patiently and happily answered every one.
Here are a few of the foods we tried. I think I got the general idea and spelling of each one!
Vegan chicken kofta - fried ground seitanballs. They had a wonderful crab cake texture.
Soup - molokhia - super thick and savory soup made with mallow leaves.
Mixed bowl - koshari - lentils, pasta, chick peas, fried onions crispies, all on a bed of rice with these garlic and spicy pepper sauces to drizzle on. Each bite has so many wonderful textures.
Cake - basbousa - semolina cake drizzled with orange flower syrup and almond crumbles. Sweet but not too sweet!
Reserve a table ahead of time if you can. It fills up quickly!
